Frenchie in tha House

Frenchie in tha House

The Dish

Are you a wing-it cook or do you follow recipes to a tee? For the most part, I follow recipes and meals turn out okay. Sometimes I wing it and I’m left with a big blob of inedible yuck. Sometimes I wing it and I am Julia Child incarnate. I feel like this week’s penguin in tha house turned into a pretty good dish!

The Lineup

I have plenty of penguins lined up for this segment of the blog. And when I say that, please know that they are actually lined up in my bedroom. Each week I pick one out of the penguin lineup and get to work on their little photo shoot. After I’m done photographing them, they go into a new line in my office. It’s my way of keeping them in order and not double posting!

The Choice

When I picked out the very soft grey and white penguin, she didn’t have a name yet. I took her around rooms with different lighting and tried to take pics from different angles. I started in my office on the piano,

moved to the laundry room,

moved to the foyer.

Somewhere along the line, I picked up the cute pink rose ball. Then I decided to use the lightbox I got a few months ago. It was a cheapy I got off Amazon, but it fits my needs just fine. At first, I had the white background, and when I switched to black she just popped!

She looks so cute with that backdrop!

The Name

I needed to name her, and the pink rose ball was my inspiration. That, and Kayleigh and I just watched Grease Live on Netflix the other day. Frenchie is what came to mind, so I present Frenchie the Penguin! Coming soon to a mug and shirt near you!
